A Day in Victoria Falls: From Heart-Pounding Thrills to Culinary Delights

Victoria Falls is a place where adventure and awe-inspiring beauty collide. It's a destination like no other, where the heart races from exhilaration, and the senses are serenaded by nature's wonders. Here's a glimpse into day 1 of my own Victoria Falls adventure:

I chose to stay at the luxurious Victoria Falls Hotel, an amazing 5-star property with lush green gardens, exquisite rooms and views that are out of this world. From the garden, one has a clear view of the great Victoria Falls Bridge with a backdrop of what looks like smoke going up as the mighty Zambezi river plunges over 100m into the narrow gorge.

The earthy scents around the hotel welcomed me, creating an immediate connection to nature. The hotel's charm and cosy rooms offered the perfect sanctuary. However, the true highlight was the food. Oh, the food! Each meal was a thrilling culinary adventure bursting with flavour and colour. The flavours danced on my taste buds and remain engraved in my memory.

As the sun climbed high in the sky, I embarked on a private tour of the Victoria Falls Park. This was a chance to witness the world wonder face to face. Walking down the pathways, I could hear the thunderous Mosi-oa-Tunya, as it is affectionately known by the locals. My anticipation grew stronger and I knew I was getting closer as soft showers of the falls landerd on my skin. Finally, I found myself facing this majestic creation that I had long waited to see. It was breathtaking!

The long pathways that trace the falls ensure that you get to experience many angles but the experience is not complete if you do not take the adventure further to view the Falls from above. In that eagerness, I took a helicopter tour of Victoria Falls known as the Flight of Angels. This is a definite must do if you are looking to be wowed beyond words. I must say, I have never seen such views in my life and I do not believe that any other place on Earth can compare.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, having dinner at the picturesque Lookout Cafe that overlooks the gorge, I couldn't help but reflect on the incredible day I'd experienced. Victoria Falls is a destination that leaves you speechless, yet turns you into a storyteller. A place where adventures etch unforgettable memories in your heart. Victoria Falls is more than a place; it's an experience, and one I will forever treasure.
